Abstract

In this paper, a substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) coupling structure is proposed for polymer microwave fibers (PMF) transmission system. Compared with the previous coupling structures applied in PMF transmission systems, the proposed structure has smaller lateral dimension and much higher coupling efficiency because the SIW structure has smaller loss. Besides, due to the use of SIW structure, this coupling structure is more suitable for integration compared with traditional ways. The simulation results show that the proposed structure has an operating bandwidth from 95 GHz to 105 GHz and the coupling efficiency reaches 86%.
