Abstract

In view of the problems of network-induced delay and data packet dropout in networked control system, the Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) algorithm with constant value compensation mechanism is used to design ship course networked controllers. TrueTime toolbox is adopted to simulate in order to analyze the effects of network-induced delay and data packet dropout on the ship course networked control system. Constant value compensation mechanism with timestamp is used when network-induced delay is considered, while constant value compensation mechanism with data packet detection module is employed when data packet dropout is considered. Simulation results show that the new controllers with compensation mechanism can reduce the oscillation and overshoot, shorten the regulating time and improve the control effect of the ship course networked control system.
