Abstract

To realize real-time online detection of heavy metal pollution in aquatic environment, a new type of remote monitoring system was designed. The System mainly consisted of monitoring terminal, gateway, GPRS network and PC control center software. First, the concentration of heavy metal ions was detected by monitoring terminal through ion selective electrode array and the automatic compensation method of system error was used to improve the detection accuracy in the detection process. Then, the collecting data was transmitted to the monitoring center through wireless sensor networks and GPRS network. Monitoring center was responsible for the preservation, analysis and display of data. The experimental data showed that the system is able to realize the concentration of heavy metal ions in water environment, and the remote acquisition and transmission is very good, the results indicated that this can be used for continuous monitoring of heavy metal contamination.
