Abstract

Abstract This paper presents a method for designing gas-turbine regenerators with particular reference to the condition of space being the principal limitation on design. For the plate-fin structure a procedure is given for arriving at maximum performance attainable in a given volume of regenerator core, and for calculating the fin patterns and plate spacings required to obtain such maximum performance. For the tubular-type regenerator a method of arriving at optimum tube spacings is presented.
