Abstract
State-of-art wireless communication industry requires consistent and reconfigurable antennas. To conquer the complications in multifrequency activity, a novel and simple strategy of frequency reconfiguration is analyzed and studied in this work. Proposed E shaped rectangular patch antenna is designed over a FR4 substrate and shows frequency reconfiguration in C band (4-4.6 GHz). The reconfiguration is achieved with the introduction of switching components (PIN diodes, BAR 64-02) between slots of the antenna. The antenna performance is studied using Ansoft HFSS ver 18. The S11 of the antenna shows enhanced performance when co related with reconfiguration and is well less than -10 dB for different configuration. The -10 dB bandwidth of the antenna shows an increment from 101 MHz (2.53%) to 166 MHz (3.68%) with reconfiguration.
