Abstract

In China, a large number of transmission corridors are distributed in mountain forests, no man's land and other areas without normal communication signals. As a result, a large number of towers and transmission lines mostly rely on manual detection. In remote areas with bad natural environment, complex terrain and poor communication conditions, manual detection is difficult and inefficient, leading transmission lines can not be effectively monitored. So serious grid accidents can easily be caused, resulting in irreparable economic losses. Our team studies and designs an algorithm of automatic detection and short message transmission based on BeiDou system. Firstly, the transmission line in the view is detected, and the location of the transmission line is determined by improved Otsu and Hough transform. Then the integrity of the transmission line is detected. Combined with the BeiDou short message communication function, and the detection results and positioning results are transmitted by BeiDou satellite short message communication. The system we proposed can realize the UAV transmission line inspection in remote areas without common communication signal coverage.
