Abstract
In this paper, a polarization insensitive and wide angle metamaterial absorber based on the electromagnetic resonance was designed. The absorber consists of electrical metal ring resonator, lossy medium and full-metal film. We applied different polarization of vertical incident electromagnetic waves and oblique incident electromagnetic waves respectively on the surface of the absorber, and conducted an electromagnetic simulation on the structure. The results show that the absorption rates for different vertical polarization incident electromagnetic waves were 99.9%, which indicates that the absorber has a high absorption and insensitive-polarization. When the angle of incidence increases to 60s, absorbing rate remained above 83.4%, and the absorber shows a wide angle of incidence characteristics. By the analysis of RCS(Radar Cross Section), the absorber has a good RCS reduction feature, indicating that the absorber has potential applications in electromagnetic shielding, stealth, detection and other fields.
