Abstract

A novel design of photonic crystal fiber (PCF) with nearly zero dispersion characteristics is reported in this paper. The effect of design parameters, such as non uniform air hole structures and pitch on the effective index and the chromatic dispersion is investigated. It can be observed that the proposed non uniform air holes cladding structure achieves ultra low chromatic dispersion and negative dispersion as well as three zero dispersion at wavelengths 1.2 μm, 1.51 μm and 1.62 μm.
