Abstract

Phased array feed is a receiver technology that places the array antenna at the focal field of telescope and combines with beamforming network to realize more flexible beam control. Combined with the characteristics of reflector antenna, through the focal field analysis of 25m telescope working at 1.25GHz, this paper simulates the array from the aspects of array element selection, array arrangement and array element spacing, and designs 5 × 5 helix antenna array, with array element spacing of 0.12m. Finally, a 25-meter telescope with a focal diameter ratio of 0.3 is used at the operating frequency of 1.25 GHz and adopts the amplitude with binomial distribution and in-phase excitation of the full array, the gain of antenna system is 40.34dBi, the half power beam width is 1.33deg, and the sidelobe level is -34.97dB.
