Abstract

In this paper, a unit of periodic slow-wave transmission line with coplanar waveguide (CPW) structure is presented. The proposed unit is implemented by CPW transmission line loading shunt capacitance and series inductance. Compared with conventional CPW transmission line, the proposed $50 \Omega$ transmission line unit with 22.5°has a more compact size, and occupies 34.7% size. The transmission line works at a center frequency of 0.9 GHz, and the bandwidth can achieve 476.6%, ranged from 0 GHz to 4.29 GHz. In addition, two and four unit-cells of proposed structure are simulated to verify the characteristic of proposed unit. Simulated results show that it has a good performance with high return loss and low insertion loss.
