Abstract

A novel optical decoder has been proposed with multi-hierarchical Modified Prime Code Sequences (MPCS) for synchronous code division multiple access (S/CDMA) network to increase the capacity dramatically. The proposed algorithm [6] was the Original Design Algorithm, where offset = 1 and Nsub = layer number - 1. It can improve the simultaneous capacity of MPCS with low successful rate. In this paper, we have proposed the so-called Optimal Design Algorithm to further increase the successful rate of MPCS by choosing the appropriate values of offset and Nsub. From the simulation results, the successful rate can be greatly increased for large values of offset and Nsub when combining Prime Code P 7 C 4,6 , with Prime Codes P 3 .
