Abstract

This paper presents a hardware and software design of a multi-point temperature acquisition system based on MSP430F149. A network interface chip RTL8019AS is added in order to connect to the host computer and get access to the network for remote detection. The data acquisition is achieved by using intelligent digital temperature sensor DS18B20. Eight DS18B20s are connected to the MSP430 to constitute a small temperature sensor network module, and two wiring methods-parallel and serial, are compared. The main research in software design is the realization of the rapid 8-channel temperature data acquisition methods, as well as that of the UIP TCP / IP protocol stacks in MSP430. In the remote network testing, the collected temperature data and the TCP packet transmission satisfy the system application requirements. The system laid the foundation for the construction of the distributed temperature data acquisition and monitoring system which is large-scale and based on network.
