Abstract
AbstractThis paper proposes a new ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter designing method employing multiple stepped impedance stub loaded resonator (SISLR) on the multimode resonator structure. The structure is simulated and analyzed theoretically to exhibit the achievement of a filter passband containing broad frequency range nearly equal to the UWB frequency band ranging 4.17–10.5 GHz, in addition to the sharp cut off by properly adjusting the appearances of the T-shaped open vertical stubs. This compact size bandpass filter also allows a good performance in terms of return loss of 13 dB and a low insertion loss. This compact size bandpass filter also allows a good performance in terms of low insertion loss (0 dB). The proposed UWB filter can be applied in smart engineering application such as deep space navigations, UWB microwave imaging.KeywordsMicrostrip lineVertical stubMultimode resonator (MMR) bandpass filterStepped impedance stub loaded resonator (SISLR)Ultra-wideband (UWB)
