Abstract

In order to improve the living quality of existing users, we make innovative designs of refrigerators to enhance the comprehensive satisfaction and market competitiveness of products and implement the application of the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process in product design. Through the interview and investigation of the refrigerator’s own characteristics, design elements, and users, we determine the indicators of each design element of the refrigerator, establish the refrigerator indicator structure hierarchy model based on the AHP analytic hierarchy process, design a multi-functional refrigerator as the general goal of decision-making, and take the intelligent management control, safety, health and environmental protection, and Internet of things service functions as the criteria layer to calculate the weight and check the consistency of the indicators at all levels. According to the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) results and design index elements, a multi-functional refrigerator is designed as an example. The overall design example and each design index are evaluated using the comprehensive fuzzy evaluation method. According to the final evaluation score, the design generally meets users' needs, but some indicators also need improvement. The feasibility and rationality of case design are determined through the analytic hierarchy process, case design, and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The insufficient parts are found, which is convenient for later improvement and optimization and provides an effective reference for product design.
