Abstract

Electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) is widely studied in the field of industrial multiphase flow parameter detection because of its non-contact advantages. To meet the measurement requirements in different experimental conditions and improve the applicability of the system, a multi-frequency ECT System based on compact peripheral component interconnect (CPCI) industrial bus standard is developed. This system uses field programmable gate array (FPGA) as the central control and data processing module, which controls multi-frequency signal generation module, electrode switch module, data preprocessing and acquisition module, and data transmission module on a standard 6 Unit (6U) Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The system can produce 12 frequency excitation signals in the frequency range of 0-2 MHz. The data received by data preprocessing and acquisition module is sent to FPGA for demodulation and high-speed transmission to the host computer for image reconstruction through CPCI bus interface. The experimental results show that the system can collect more information than single-frequency ECT under different frequency excitation, and the image quality can be improved by data fusion.
