Abstract

Solar Hydrogen Production In article number 2201815, Daniele Benetti, Qin Wei, Federico Rosei, and co-workers develop a versatile template-based metal–organic framework (MOF) method to prepare hierarchical NiO/carbon hollow nanostructures that can be used as photocathodes for solar-driven H2 production. Compared to pure NiO-based photocathodes, MOF-templated NiO-based devices exhibit improved performance due to increased light scattering, larger surface area for quantum dot sensitization, and better charge transfer via the carbon matrix.
