Abstract

This paper presents microstrip antenna arrays fed by transverse slots on a broad wall and fed by longitudinal slots on a narrow wall of the rectangular waveguide for linear polarization parallel and perpendicular to the axis, respectively. A series-fed two-element microstrip antenna array excited by a transverse slot on the broad wall of the waveguide is used as an array element for parallel polarization. On the other hand, combined dual-ring microstrip antenna excited by a longitudinal slot on the narrow wall is used for perpendicular polarization. The both proposed arrays can suppress grating lobes produced by a slot array arranged at a spacing of one guided wavelength.
