Abstract

This paper presents a new approach based on a simulated evolution (SE) method to design of matched filters for signal pre-processing IR detecting systems. The matched filter possesses a recursive digital form and matches with the bell-shaped pulse signal of IR detectors. The SE method can be used to search for optimal filter parameters such that the magnitude characteristic of the filter matches with the desired precisely. Simulation results are presented to show the advantages of this new design methodology and the potential of its applications to design of non-standard shape filters.
