Abstract

Indonesia is acknowledged as a country with an area surrounded by oceans, reaching approximately 5.8 million kms or about 70% of its territory. Ocean waves serve the basic energy, despite minimal deployment. By utilizing the ocean waves, Indonesia actualizes the welfare of the nation, because the energy of ocean waves and ocean currents in Indonesia reach approximately 727,000 MW. Currently, the use of ocean wave energy in Indonesia has been not optimal for the benefit of fishermen and coastal communities. The design of the ocean wave power plant has been initiated despite minimal usage. For this reason, it is necessary to design a sea wave power plant for low power scale for ship lighting while sailing or for lighting coastal communities. The goal of this plan is to obtain an economical and advantageous ocean wave power plant design for the community. More specifically, the generated design is a pontoon with a coefficient of Cube (CB) = 4.98 and prism volume (Va) CB.LBT, indicating that the pontoons are potential for a combination, requiring the operating volume Va 4.98 x 400 x 399.97 x 200 = 159348674 mm3.
