Abstract

AbstractThis article describes the design of a low insertion loss, high speed, and high isolation reflective SPST switch at 36 GHz (Ka‐band). The switch is based on suspended stripline transmission line medium using PIN diodes in shunt configuration. The measured insertion loss for the switch is less than 1.1 dB with isolation greater than 30 dB over a bandwidth of 4 GHz. The measured switching speed for the switch is less than 5 ns. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 54:1808–1810, 2012; View this article online at wileyonlinelibrary.com.
