Abstract

The increasing use and understanding of the Internet has inspired new consumer products which in turn have demanded new types of high-integration/low-cost microcontrollers. This paper describes the integration of a 32-bit RISC CPU and peripherals required for TV-orientated Internet appliance products. The resulting device requires only external ROM, SDRAM and a network interface to complete the hardware platform.
