Abstract
With the increase in the proportion of new energy power generation in China, the pressure on the grid frequency adjustment that thermal power units need to bear is gradually increasing. Battery energy storage system is a good solution to participate in grid frequency modulation. Energy storage system combined with thermal power coordination system has the advantages of fast regulation speed, high regulation precision, short response time, bidirectional regulation, etc. This paper expounds the components of battery energy storage system, the working principle of battery energy storage system participating in power grid frequency regulation, the advantages of battery energy storage system assisting frequency regulation, and the control strategy of battery energy storage system participating in power grid, It provides a reference for the system design of energy storage thermal power joint frequency regulation project in the future.
