Abstract

In view of the problem of weak ground fault signals in distribution network and difficulty in fault line selection, a method of fault line selection in distribution network based on correlation analysis of characteristic quantities is designed. Principal component analysis is used to optimize multiple fault characteristics, and they form historical sample sets and real-time characteristic samples. These samples are analyzed by using cluster analysis intelligent algorithm. With this method, highly correlated fault characteristics can be flexibly selected for line selection according to the actual situation. This method effectively improves the reliability of fault line selection and accurately selects the ground fault of the distribution network. A typical distribution network is built in the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation environment to verify the proposed line selection method. The simulation results show that the method can effectively amplify the ground fault characteristics and realize accurate single-phase ground fault line selection.
