Abstract

ABSTRACTThis article presents a triple band stacked patch antenna for WLAN/WiMAX applications. This antenna has compact size and simple in structure. The proposed antenna consists of fan-shaped driven patch and parasitic circular patch. The antenna shows the measured impedance bandwidths at three distinct bands I from 2.29 to 2.38 GHz at 2.35 GHz, II from 3.77 to 3.84 GHz at 3.78 GHz and III from 5.15 to 5.23 GHz at 5.20 GHz, that covers the WiMAX (2.3–2.6, 3.3–3.8 GHz) and WLAN (5.2–5.8 GHz) standards, respectively. The measured peak gain and maximum efficiency among the three different frequencies is about 7.31 dBi at 5.2 GHz and 82.42% at 2.35 GHz, respectively. To prove the validation of proposed design the antenna is fabricated and tested. The effect of the parasitic patch parameters is also studied.
