Abstract

A vending machine is a machine that distributes goods such as cigarettes, food, and drinks. In general, vending machines take coins in any sequence as inputs and provide items when the user enters the appropriate amount in the depository. If the amount entered is higher than the product amount, the change is returned. It also has the ability to cancel orders. The Implementation of vending machines can be made using a microprocessor or an field programmable gate array (FPGA), although FPGA-based vending machines are more efficient in terms of speed and power usage. Here in this paper, we put forward a comprehensive finding for implementation of vending machine on FPGA boards, while considering the following parameters varying temperature, varying Output load capacitance, varying frequency on various devices. The solution is written in VHDL and simulated with Xilinx ISE Design Simulator tool with a brief comparison in Virtex6 and Artix7.
