Abstract

The engineering of the electromechanical converters with levitation elements has been investigated taking into account a number of factors arising from the Fourier law for conductivity, Wiedemann-Franz law for electrical conductors, the Vidmar principle of proportionality for dimensions, surface effect in solid levitation element (LE, valid values for the temperature drop in LE, magnetic induction range in magnetic core steel, crowding effects of the magnetic field near the excitating winding and shock forces in the upper magnetic circuit yoke). Features of current regimes and static stresses in converters were also taken into account. The obtained analytical expressions for parameters and elaborated recommendations can be used for calculation and design of electrotechnical devices for various purposes containing levitation elements
