Abstract

Sampling system of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) is exploited to transport a sample into the central channel of inductively coupled plasma (ICP). Currently, only one sample can be introduced at one time by the commercial sampling system of ICP-OES. Therefore, an efficient double-sample sampling system was established by increasing the sample channels and tee valve on the hardware and the calibration factor (R = 2) on the software. To demonstrate unique utility of the efficient double-sample sampling system, several special applications were studied, including simultaneous introduction of single-element sample and single-element sample, single-element sample and multi-element sample, as well as multi-element sample and multi-element sample.
