Abstract

In photovoltaic power generation system, DC voltage variation leads to AC voltage distortion. This paper introduced a dual PWM inverter to reduce AC voltage harmonics when DC voltage was changing, which is based on D&T's inverter model. Dual PWM inverter is composed of two series three-phase PWM inverters. Its fundamental voltage characteristic is used to calculate modulations to maintain output voltage stably, and its harmonic voltage characteristic is used to calculate the operating point for harmonics minimization. Therefore, the two series inverters worked with different modulations, but its total output voltage is constant, and the harmonic distortion rate is at low level. Finally, the inverter's topological structure, characteristic analysis and control method is testified to be effective by simulation experiment.
