Abstract

The design presents the dual-polarized antenna, which works on an ultra-wideband range of 3.1GHz to 10.1GHz. The overall configurations is square, with two adjacent arms being micro strip fed that are orthogonal to each other and are accountable for two opposite polarized fields. Two other slots are put in symmetry to minimize cross-polarization. The simulated impedance bandwidth is 10 GHz (from 3.1GHz to 10.1GHz) mainly in the UWB range. The 20 dB isolation is achieved from 4.2 GHz to 9.9 GHz. The mutual coupling between the two slots begins from 3.4 GHz. With good isolation and less cross-polarization, the MIMO antenna works very well in many UWB applications such as automotive radars, imaging, wearable devices, and wireless communication.
