Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to design a dual-frequency conformal compact leaky-wave antenna. In the design process, three software (HFSS, MATLAB and CST) used to achieve the desired side lobe level (SLL) on the E and H planes of the far field radiation pattern at design frequencies. The proposed antenna has broadside pencil beam radiation pattern at frequencies 14 and 18 GHz with the gain of 22, and 21.5 dB, respectively. The hologram interference is composed of unit-cells with square patches printed on a grounded Rogers RT/D5880 substrate with 1.57 mm thickness. For uniform excitation of the hologram at each of the design frequencies, two 1:8 symmetrical conformal substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) power dividers are designed. The dimension of the proposed structure is about $10\lambda0\times 10\lambda0$. The radiation efficiency of the proposed antenna at design frequencies is more than 87%. The SLL of E and H planes at each frequency is less than −10dB.
