Abstract
Driver's role in automated driving depends on the automated driving stage. It is important to transmit the vehicle control authority between the driver and the automated driving system in the automated driving vehicle at SAE Level 2 and Level 3. Therefore, a driver readiness model is required in the vehicle to evaluate and judge the readiness of the driver. In this paper, we proposed a driver readiness estimator (DRE) system that can perform the function of determining and analyzing whether the driver can switch vehicle control from automatic to manual drive. In the near future, we will implement out proposed DRE system and will be tuning the system that can be optimized for the driver, since the driving ability and health status of the individual driver are different.
