Abstract

For equipment's PHM (Prognostics and Health Management), it is important to acquire the environment information of temperature, humidity, pressure, vibration, impact acceleration and magnetic field intensity, etc. These relevant parameters which are used to predict failure progression will accumulate for years of periods. This paper designed a low power consumption system with characteristics of long work time. The system consists of the embedded ARM microprocessor, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) sensors, FLASH and interface circuits. Furthermore, for low power consumption purpose, a dynamic power management strategy is designed carefully. So when equipment's storage and transportation status is changed or time cycle expires, the data sampled by sensors can be stored on board memory temporarily and can be transmitted to host computer by wireless communication module afterward. The system with another characteristic of small size is suitable for limited work space.
