Abstract

Switched Reluctance Motor because of its intrinsic simplicity in structure, low cost, high reliability make them suitable for many application. However, due to double saliency in the construction of switched reluctance motor, torque ripple is more intense and frequent in switched reluctance motor than any other traditional motors available in industry. Torque ripple further leads to vibration and noise. In order to control the torque ripple, torque and flux is regulated within hysteresis limit by applying the method of Direct Torque Control (DTC). In this paper, Chopped Current Control (CCC) and Direct Torque Control of 6/4 SRM is simulated and performance of both the controller is analysed at different load and speed conditions.
