Abstract
The purpose of this research is to improve the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method’s performance. Solar charge controller incorporating maximum power point tracker (MPPT) is designed to capture the highest power possible from the solar panel under specified solar radiation and temperature conditions to enhance photovoltaic (PV) efficiency and battery lifespan. To demonstrate the efficacy of the newly proposed modified perturb and observe (P&O) method, it has been correlated with conventional P&O MPPT method. The modified P&O method is based on fuzzy logic controller. Also maximum power point tracking based on fuzzy logic controller for photovoltaic power generation is also considered. The modified P&O method real-time adjustment ensures that solar power generation runs smoothly and effectively enhancing the charging time of the solar charge controller in comparison with other techniques. The results of simulating the proposed technique including fuzzy controller methodology have been verified in MATLAB/Simulink successfully.
