Abstract

Based on the great potential of porous carbon materials in dealing with various environmental pollution problems, we designed a facile strategy for fabricating boron-doped mesoporous carbon materials (BMC-X). During this synthesis, F127 was selected as the soft template, phenolic resin and triisopropyl borate were selected as C-and B-containing precursors. The prepared material has a large specific surface area (up to 662 m2/g), good mesoporous structure and high boron doping amount, which contribute to its use as a bifunctional adsorbent for dyes and CO2 is presented. When used as a crystal violet and Congo red adsorbent, BMC-0.05 can deliver superior adsorption performance as well as excellent cycling stability. When testing its application in CO2 capture, the maximum uptake capacity of CO2 reached 94.96 mg/g (303 K, ambient pressure).
