Abstract

Wind power generation system is one of the renewable energies in which generator plays key role in such a way that increasing the power density of this component can lead to a compact wind generation system. In this regard, a high power density Permanent Magnet Flux Switching Generator (PMFSG) is going to be designed in this paper. The effect of Permanent Magnet (PM) placement on the rotor or stator structure is analyzed. Also, design procedure of an outer rotor flux switching generator in which PMs are mounted on the rotor segments, which is named as Rotor-Mounted PM Flux Switching Generator (RMPMFSG), is developed. In order to analyze the designed RMPMFSG, Finite Elements Analysis (FEA) is employed. Also, the results are going to be compared with the FEA results of an outer rotor PMFSG in which PMs are mounted between stator segments.
