Abstract

An electron-optical system for sheet electron beam traveling wave tubes was designed. The electron gun was designed to produce a 30 kV, 0.2 A sheet electron beam with a cross-section of 0.56 × 0.08 mm. The offset-pole PCM structure was adopted to focus the sheet electron beam. Computer simulation technology particle studio (CST-PS) was used to simulate the whole system. The simulation results showed that the transmission rate of the electron beam attained 98.3 % over a transmission length of 61.8 mm.
