Abstract

The High-voltage switch (HVS) has been widely employed for development of a large scale high voltage direct current (HVDC) grid, which can be obtained by a series-connection semiconductor device. However, the MOSFETs device exists parasitic anti-parallel diode, cannot realize the reverse blocking for the solid-state transformer (SST) of 10kV-AC grid applications. In this paper, a high-performance bidirectional blocking AC-HVS is presented, with reverse series-connection of 1200V SiC-MOSFETs. In addition, the static voltage balancing and dynamic voltage balancing scheme are analyzed. The proposed HVAC solid-state breaker for SST is verified by the corresponding experiment.
