Abstract

A wideband unequal power divider with filtering response is proposed based on the ring resonator. The first two resonant modes of ring are excited to form a dividing passband. After installing an open stub along the ring resonator and two coupled lines at two output ports, one additional transmission pole and three transmission zeros can be generated to improve the passband skirt and out-of-band rejection. Then, the isolation resistor is loaded to achieve the good in-band isolation. To obtain the unequal power division, the branch lines are designed to be with different characteristic impedances. Finally, a prototype with 1:2 power dividing ratio is designed and fabricated. The measured results show a 20-dB isolation and 42% fractional bandwidth, which have a good agreement with those obtained from simulation.
