Abstract

This paper proposes a wideband coaxial line to rectangular waveguide transition to use in high-power microwave systems. The proposed structure consists of a supershape excitation probe in a rectangular waveguide. The structure’s performance was measured and verified by fabricating a prototype. It was found that the measurement results are in good agreement with the simulation ones. The measured results indicate that the proposed structure’s reflection coefficient and insertion loss are lower than -15 dB and 0.25 dB, respectively. Also, bandwidth increased from 7.8 to 15 GHz which is more than 63%. Therefore, the proposed transition can be utilized in different high-power microwave components and antenna applications.
