Abstract
Design of an Electric boat with solar power charging is proposed here for the water transport of Bangladesh. The design includes the installation of a solar charging station with a net metering system; where all the boats can be charged when needed instead of placing solar panels in each boat. The speed and dimensions of the boat have been selected based on the requirements and availability of boats in different regions of Bangladesh. The simulation results show that the boat can have a reasonable range of operation after each charging. The cost analysis is also performed and the payback period is found to be low. The system can pave the way for using green energy in the river transport of Bangladesh.
