Abstract

A simple circular lattice Photonic Crystal Fiber (PCF) biosensor based on Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) phenomenon is suggested in this paper. The PCF structure has two air-hole ring circular lattice. The plasmonic material is deposited on the outer layer of the PCF to make simple fabrication of the fiber. The performance of the offered sensor is analyzed in terms of wavelength sensitivity and amplitude sensitivity. It is discovered that the utmost wavelength and amplitude sensitivity of 19,000 nm/RIU and 985 RIU−1, respectively. The sensor wavelength resolution is found $5.26\times 10^{-6}$ RIU. The sensor is able to detect the sample analyte ranging from 1.33 to 1.40 refractive index unit. The structure shows a promising platform in chemical-sensing, biomedical-diagnostics and real-time observing of biochemical reactions.
