Abstract

Bangladesh is experiencing an acute shortage of electric power that is likely to be worsening day by day which stresses the need for the deployment of renewable energy resources to extenuate this energy crisis. The work was begun by investigating solar and bio energy potentials of the desired site, compiling data from different sources and analyzing it using a software tool. This paper presents the design of a hybrid electric power generation system utilizing both solar and biogas biomass energy for supplying in remote areas of Bangladesh. The design of a standalone PV-biogas hybrid power generating system has preceded based on the promising findings of these three renewable energy resource potentials, solar and biogas biomass. Electric load for the basic needs of the rural areas such lighting, fan, a television, a refrigerator has been suggested. The simulations and design has been carried out using the HOMER software.
