Abstract
This paper presents a new architecture for beam steering and decreases side lobe level in phased array composed of subarrays. In this new design, the number of phase shifters which are required in phased array are reduced significantly and hence complexity, size and cost of the phased arrays are decreased. In this structure, particle swarm optimization algorithm is utilized to solve such non- linear problem. An eight element phased array is designed and simulated using the presented structure in order to verify its performance. Simulated results manifest of scan range and side lobe level less than -18dB.
