Abstract

This paper presents a novel circuit which can reduce or even eliminate Pop-and-Click noise(PCN). PCN is a transient signal that caused in the operation of the audio power amplifiers(APA). The proposed circuit is fabricated in the 0.5μm CMOS technology. With 5V power supply voltage, this paper carries three operations (APA is powered on, APA is forced into shutdown and APA is brought out of shutdown) which may cause PCN on APA. The peak value of the APA’s output waveform with PCN suppression circuit is compared with the peak value of APA’s output waveform without PCN suppression circuit. The simulation experiment results show that the former is 3 orders of magnitude lower than the latter. The proposed PCN suppression circuit can be used in all types of APA.
