Abstract

A new all-optical routing device for network system applications based on arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) and tunable fiber Bragg gratings (TFBGs) is proposed. The configuration of the proposed routing device includes three optical circulators (OCs), one AWG, thirteen TFBGs, and five fixed fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). The simulation results show that the proposed router can have both optical interleaver and optical cross-connect (OXC) functions.
