Abstract

A new approach to Direct Torque Control (DTC) of induction motor is presented. Through the PI regulation, the torque error can lead to the desirable change in angle between stator and rotor flux vectors. Teh change in angle is added in the actual angle of stator magnetic flux vector and then the reference stator flux vector can be estimated. Applying a complex subtraction between the reference and the actual stator flux vector can acquire the desirable change in stator flux and then use the space vector modulation to control the motor. According to the simulation, it can be verified that this method can not only decrease the oscillation of torque and flux, but can simplify the design of control system as well.
