Abstract
A state of the art electron beam accelerator was designed into a multi-purpose processing plant in Cranbury, New Jersey for use in radiation modification of polymer products and materials and radiation sterilization of medical devices. This paper gives an overview of facility design, key technical specifications, and plant layout. It includes comments on the start-up, operation, and maintenance of the facility, as well as a comparison of design versus actual performance.
