Abstract

Downconverter plays a unique role in radio frequency (RF) receiving systems, which converts the RF signal to the intermediate frequency (IF) signal. This paper proposes a design of a miniaturized 2–18 GHz downconverter with a 1 GHz processing bandwidth. The key electrical parameters of the designed downconverter are the noise figure ( 70dB), and the spurious signal level (<50dB). By using the integrated GaAs filter bank, the size of the RF circuit is increasingly miniaturized.
