Abstract
This paper presents the characteristics of a half bowtie-shaped, meander-type antenna for broadband impedance bandwidth. The design was based on a modified meander line and a bowtie shape with coaxial feeding. The maximum measured impedance bandwidth (−10 dB) was approximately 1.5075 GHz (5.5775–7.085 GHz), or about 23.8%. Radiation patterns at different frequencies are presented herein. The measured antenna gain ranges from about 3.43 to 6.73 dBi. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
